What a difference a few months make!

Brian Papiez started out the season without a ride.  Joe Toth struggled during the early weeks of the season in the Dave Adams No. 37 602 Sportsman, leading the pair to part company and Toth return to his own No. 9.

Papiez moved in to the No. 37 Modifed with some additional sposorship and Jordan Henn was named as the driver of the No. 37 Sportsman for some special events.

On Saturday night, both Papiez and Toth found their way to the Insta Sign Plus Victory Lane for the first time this season.

Papiez battled with Coleby Frye for the lead on the start and the led all the way to the checkered for his win in the thirty lap Danny’s Pizza Pizzazz Modified feature.  Frye raced in second for the thirty lap distance.  Ryan Krachun won the battle with HJ Bunting for third while Bunting finished fourth.  Dillon Steuer finished fifth battling with Brandon and Justin Grosso throughout the race.

Kevin Hirthler finished sixth after starting mid-field.  Billy Osmun III rebounded from an early race incident to finish seventh followed by Brandon and Justin Grosso and Cale Ross.

Toth raced to the win in the Ice Less 602 Sportsman feature in what had to be one of the most closely contested races of the season.

Pete Serra led the first three laps before Ronnie Solomon III took over on lap four.  Frequent caution flags kept the field close.  A lap eight restart saw Travis Hill take the lead and Toth moved up to second after a battle with Solomon.  Matt Peck was next, moving up to fourth by lap ten.

Toth kept the pressure on Hill with the battle for the lead heating up with six laps to go.  Rubbing is racing and the two drivers did some rubbing as Toth took the lead on lap twenty.  It was Toth who took the checkered flag over Hill, Peck, Jess Hirthler whose late race charge put him fourth with Solomon rounding out the top five.   Luke Bunting finished sixth followed by Jim Wyers, Jax Yohn, Trent Willey and Billy Chester.

Joe Kata raced to his first ever feature win in the United Racing Club feature event.  Josh Weller finished second in this non-stop event followed by Buddy Schweibinz, Mike Thompson and Hyden Miller.  Kata has experience in both 410 and 305 sprints but has found success with the 360 winged cars of URC.

Danny Leaper raced to his second win of the season in the Victory Fuel Wingless Sprints.  In spite of some late race cautions, Leaper took the win over defending champion, Brian Spencer, JR Fulper, Shea Wills and Stan Ploski III.

Lee Allen looked like he was on his way to another Insta Signs Plus Four Cylinder victory when a broken suspension part found Allen sideways in turn two on lap nine.  Jim Backowski went on to take the win – his first of the season followed by

Roger Kummerer and Jon Parker.
