Recently the Long Island Enduro Racing competitors announced JCR Motorsports will return to provide the championship and top five trophies for the Truck Enduro, 8-Cylinder Enduro and 4/6-Cylinder Gut & Go Enduro classes of Riverhead Raceway. While making the disclosure, Eric Germuth and Mariah Lawrence, both of whom coordinate the points and other aspects of Long Island Enduro Racing revealed that the JCR Motorsports awards will be distributed at their annual off-season awards banquet.
A few seasons back when Riverhead Raceway discontinued tracking points for the three Enduro classes it was Eric Germuth who stepped up to do so, with Mariah Lawrence working with the track on matters such as starting line-ups. The Truck Enduro, 8-Cylinder Enduro and 4/6-Cylinder Gut & Go points system is through a buy-in by the racers themselves with most, but not all drivers participating.
When Jimmy & Angela Rennick of Howard Beach was made aware the Enduro racers were handling championship points on their own, he immediately stepped up through JCR Motorsports to provide the three champions, as well the top five hardware for their success. For Jimmy it’s way for him to give back to Enduro racing where he started his driving career back in 1986, the inaugural season of what became a wildly popular form of racing. Rennick made news on opening night of 2024 at Riverhead sweeping the Late Model and Super Pro Truck main events.
“We can’t thank Jimmy & Angela Rennick of JCR Motorsports enough for their continued love and support for our Enduro racing family on Long Island” Germuth and Lawrence stated jointly, “this year we will still have out last race party in the rear parking lot of Riverhead Raceway, food truck and all. Afterwards we will start figuring out our off-season awards banquet where will be beyond proud to hand out the JCR Motorsports trophies”.
Heading into Championship Sunday this weekend Kevin Feeney of East Quogue enjoys a 20-point margin over Pat Collins of Southampton for the 8-Cylinder Enduro title. Feeney is seeking his second straight championship, while Collins, the 2022 champion hopes for the second crown of his career. Greg Harris of Riverhead is 22 markers back of Feeney, while Sean Fitzpatrick of West Babylon is 24 back in fourth. 2023 champion Woot Lawrence completes the top five going into Sunday 40-points out of the lead.
The chase for the 2025 Truck Enduro title finds Kevin Feeney the championship leader entering the weekend by 14 over defending champion Mariah Lawrence of Southampton. Phil LaManna of Smithtown took a championship hit with a DNF last race if third 26 back of leader Lawrence, Phil’s son Brandon sits fourth 46 out of the lead. Rising talent Jackie Germuth of Hicksville is fifth while enjoying her best season to date.
Over in the 4/6-Cylinder Gut & Go Enduro paddock area David Olivari of Coram is leading the chase, hoping a 24-point lead going into the finale Sunday will be enough for his first career championship. Defending champion John Palmeri of Lindenhurst is chasing Olivari, while Mike Fragola of Manorville sits third 34 back of Olivari. Mike Mujsce Jr. of Hampton Bays is fourth -42, while former champion Zach Tyler of Cutchogue sits fifth, -76.
Completing the Championship Sunday program this week are the Street Stocks, Mini Stocks and the INEX Bandolero racers. To that end Jimmy & Angela Rennick further disclosed they’ll provide eight trophies for the INEX Bandolero Beginners who raced during the 2025 campaign.
