Night one of the Ron Faison Memorial weekend saw some familiar faces in the Insta Sign Plus Victory Lane. Buddy Schweibinz raced to his first 305 win if the season at Bridgeport in the twenty-five lap DCB’S Plumbing & Heating Mid Atlantic Sprint Series feature event. Jasen Geesaman raced to the win in the Insta Signs Plus Street Stock feature while Stan Ploski III led flag to flag for the win in the Victory Fuel Wingless Sprints. Charley Cossaboone raced to his first win in his Rookie season in the Underdog 15 for winless 602 Sportsman.
Three time series champion, Schweibinz raced to the win after taking the lead from Jared Kreider on lap one. Nick Sweigert raced by 2025 MASS Champion, Troy Betts, right before a lap seventeen caution. Aidan Borden finished 6th followed by Dave Brown, Jeff Paulson, Brian Carber and Dan Leaper. The racing was great and a good indicator of what was to come in Saturday night’s action.
Schweibinz did have a win at Bridgeport earlier in the season while racing with the United Racing Club.
Jasen Geesaman raced to the win the fifteen lap Insta Signs Plus of Delaware feature. Chris Derr returned to the wheel of an old ride as a team mate to Geesaman and led the first five laps of the feature. They raced four wide for second on the first lap as Geesaman, Bailey Tolson, Scott Freed and Heisel battled through turn two with Geesaman taking over second. Geesaman took the lead from Derr on lap six while Tolson battled with 2025 Track Champion, Mike Hughes.
As Geesaman raced to the checkered, the three eighteens followed with Tolson taking second over Hughes and Derr. Darren Cox rounded out the top five at the finish. Scott Freed, Nick Sandone III, Jimmy Combs, Mike Baldwinn and Spider Ensinger, Jr. completed the top ten at the checkered.
Stan Ploski, III made his statement with a flag-to-flag win in the Victory Fuel Wingless Sprints as he raced ahead of Jonathan Swanson, Wayne Scott, Heidi Hedin and Andrew Hunt for the win
Charley Cossaboone continued the family tradition as he raced to his first victory in the Ice Less 602 Sportsman. Bringing the yellow No. 7a back to Bridgeport this season, Charley continues in the tradition of his grandfather, Chic Cossaboone, a past champion and much loved Bridgeport competitor. Duncan Molesworth finished second with Lew Moore taking third.
