LONG POND, Pa. (April 9, 2026) – Pocono Raceway is giving its upcoming NASCAR weekend the “old college try” through a partnership with East Stroudsburg University.

“The Tricky Triangle” is collaborating with East Stroudsburg University’s Sport Management Department on a project that provides students the opportunity to gain hands-on, real-world experience selling tickets for the June 12-14 race weekend featuring the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and ARCA Menards Series.

“East Stroudsburg University has been a great partner to Pocono Raceway over the years, and we’ve always had tremendous respect for the strength of its Sport Management program,” Pocono Raceway President Ben May said. “When they approached us about creating a project that would give students real-world experience selling tickets for our NASCAR weekend, it was an easy decision. Programs like this help prepare the next generation of sports industry professionals while also strengthening the connection between the university and our local community.”

ESU, located less than 30 miles east of Pocono Raceway in Monroe County, has an accredited (COSMA) Sport Management Department that offers a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) program designed to prepare students for careers in athletic administration, sport marketing and facility management. The program emphasizes practical experience, featuring internships with more than 250 organizations, service-learning projects and instruction from experienced faculty.

An ESU Sport Management Department sales class is spending the semester learning and developing the key skills associated with sporting event ticket sales and integrated marketing strategies. Students also meet with members of Pocono Raceway’s marketing and ticketing teams to learn about their experiences and job responsibilities. The collaboration with Pocono Raceway provides another opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience within the sports industry.

“Ticket sales are one of the most important factors in sport sales; this project provides    students with a direct understanding of how a sport organization sells tickets,” Dr. Kyle Brannigan Assistant Professor of Sport Management said. “We could not be happier to expand our partnership with such a prestigious and historic organization in Pocono Raceway and are grateful for the time and resources they provide for our program.”

As part of the program, each student will have the opportunity to promote a special ticket offer to family, friends and their personal networks. Earlier in the semester, members of the Pocono Raceway marketing team met with the students to present the ticket options available for The Great American Getaway 400 presented by VISIT PA NASCAR weekend. They also walked through the ticket-buying process and shared tips and strategies for closing a sale.

Now entering the second phase of the project, Pocono Raceway and the class are seeking volunteers to participate by opting in to receive a call from one of the students regarding the special ticket offer. Fans who have already purchased tickets and would still like to support the students can opt in to receive a call to complete a brief survey about their ticket purchasing experience. The weekend features a race each day, beginning with the ARCA Menards Series 150 on Friday, June 12 (3 p.m. ET), followed by the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series MillerTech Battery 250 presented by KOA on Saturday, June 13 (4 p.m.) and culminating with The Great American Getaway 400 presented by VISIT PA on Sunday, June 14 (3 p.m.).
