BROOKFIELD, NY – An incredibly wet Memorial Day Weekend, featuring multiple days of cold and rain, has led to the postponement of Sunday’s ‘Fast Cars & Freedom’ 2026 Season Opener at Brookfield Speedway.
The decision was made on Sunday morning by the speedway’s management in the interest of competitors and fans.
Rain moved over the Madison County Fairgrounds Saturday morning and remains in the area through Memorial Day Monday.
As a result of saturated grounds, parking areas and pit area, the Monday rain date will not be used.
Sunday’s program was to include the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco Sportsman (Madsen Overhead Doors Inc. North Region Round No. 2), Hustle the Highway Series 600 Modifieds, Pro Stocks, Four Cylinders, Slingshots and a 50-lap Enduro.
