Southeastern Ontario’s ideal long weekend wrap-up is waiting in the wings at Cornwall Motor Speedway.
This year’s 57th season opener leaves the staging area Sunday, May 17th with the return of the Super DIRTcar Series Big Block Modified Spring Shootout. 100 laps of action, paying $10,000 to win. Also on the docket will be a DIRTcar Sportsman Series 35 lapper, with a $1200 payday, plus the opening round of the home track Mini Stock Battle for a Cure Series.
The promotional team at Cornwall Motor Speedway is thrilled to host the first Super DIRTcar Series date north of the border and the first of a pair of Big Block Modified shows on the track’s busy 2026 schedule. In addition to the opening night thriller, the O’Canada 75 spotlight event will take centre stage Tuesday, July 7th with the 75-lap ‘A’ main coming with a $7500 payday. The raceday line-up will also include a 35-lap Battle on the Border Sportsman-Modified tilt for $1200 and a 25-lap Mini Stock Battle for a Cure Series headliner.
In 2025, the Super DIRTcar Series Big Block event at Cornwall Motor Speedway made history as a trio of Canadian runners swept the top 3 finishing positions. Mario Clair was the best of a stellar field of touring stars and collected the $10,000 payday. Dalton Slack and Mat Williamson followed Clair across the line to complete the podium positions. With their respective 5th and 6th place showings, David Hebert and Samuel Charland also had strong runs on their native turf. Charland was named the event’s hard charger, gaining 15 spots from his 21st place starting position in the 100-lap main event.
