INDEPENDENCE DAY RACES JULY 4 INCLUDE LOW DOWN THROW DOWN MODIFIED MATCH RACES – FIRECRACKER 40 JULY 11 – BACK TO THE 90’S $10 NIGHT JULY 18

BECHTELSVILLE, PA. – It is no secret that the surrounding Berks County region could use some rain, but it does not have to happen on race day Saturdays!

On and off late morning and afternoon rain showers, which were predicted to continue until close to race time, leaving no time to prepare the track for the evening’s program, caused the cancellation of the race event scheduled for Saturday night June 27 at Grandview Speedway.

The night’s program to be sponsored by A.D. Moyer Lumber Company, was to include the T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment NASCAR Modifieds and Sportsman plus the Outlaw Racing Series Vintage cars. A.D. Moyer Lumber Company night will be rescheduled for a future race night.

The rain cancellation was the fifth Saturday night event to be lost to the weather this season at Grandview Speedway, as attention will now turn to two special events in the upcoming week leading into the Independence Day holiday.

First up will be a Thunder on the Hill Racing Series event on Tuesday, June 30 with a visit by the powerful 410 Sprint Cars of the Pennsylvania Posse in the 36th running of PA 410 Sprint Car Speed Week. The Speed Week event at Grandview is titled the Hodnett Cup and salutes the late driver Greg Hodnett who is one of the all-time winningest 410 Sprint drivers in Grandview history, with nine career 410 Sprint Car wins. The program will include time trials and qualifying events leading up to the 35-lap 410 Sprint Car main event which pays the winner a healthy $10,000!

Recent winners of the Pa Speed Week 410 Sprint race at Grandview have been Logan Schuchart  (2024), rain (2023), Rico Abreu (2022), NASCAR Cup Series stars Kyle Larson (2021, 2020, 2018, & 2017), and Christopher Bell (2019), with the 2025 event being lost to rain.

The Tuesday night show will also include the 358 Modifieds in a NASCAR point event which includes qualifying races and a 30-lap $3000 to win main event. Alpine Building Supply has once again posted a first time Thunder Series winner’s bonus of $2000, making for a possible $5000 payday for the 358 Modified feature event!

NASCAR Modified drivers who have been victorious in the companion event with the 410 Sprints in recent years have been Doug Manmiller (2024), rain (2023), Brett Kressley (2022), Ryan Godown (2021), Ryan Watt (2020), Jeff Strunk (2019 & 2018), and Duane Howard (2017).

The popular Thunder on the Hill Advance ticket process is available for this event. Advance tickets may be ordered by calling 443.513.4456, be sure to provide your first and last name and the number of tickets you will need. On race night, go to the WILL CALL window at 4:30 pm where you may pay for and pick-up your tickets.  Advance ticket holders may enter the grandstands at 4:30 pm, one half-hour prior to general admission tickets going on sale and grandstand gates opening at 5 pm, with race time set for 7:30 pm.
