AFTON, NY – Alex Yankowski and Blaine Klinger maintain slim point leads into the upcoming three-race stretch of Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco events to kick off the month of September.
The series kicks into high gear with stops at Afton Motorsports Park in Afton, N.Y. (Thursday, Sept. 3), Autodrome Granby in Granby, Quebec (Monday, Sept. 7) and Le RPM Speedway in Saint-Marcel-de-Richelieu, Quebec (Tuesday, Sept. 8).
Covington Township, Pa.’s Yankowski sits atop the HYTORC of New York STSS Modified North Region by a slim margin of 10 points over Matt Sheppard in the $15,000 championship race. Alex Payne sits third, 93 points behind.
In Madsen Overhead Doors Inc. STSS Sportsman North Region standings, Walton, N.Y.’s Klinger leads by 11 points over Keystone State driver Tyler Peet.

At Afton Thursday (Sept. 3), the ‘Afton Action 50’ features the STSS Modifieds in a 50-lap, $5,050-to-win STSS Modified event accompanied by the STSS Sportsman racing 25 laps for a $1,500 top prize at the fairgrounds venue located off Interstate 88 Exit 7.
The tacky half-mile oval at Autodrome Granby hosts the STSS Modifieds for 60 laps and a $10,000 top prize on Monday (Sept. 7). STSS Sportsman make their first visit to Canada with 30 laps and a $1,500 top prize awaiting.
On Tuesday (Sept. 8), it’s the ‘Short Track Spectaculaire’ of Le RPM Speedway – an ultra-fast quarter-mile oval – with a 60-lap, $10,000-to-win STSS Modified event and 30-lap STSS Sportsman program paying $1,500 to win.
