URC SPRINT CARS JOIN MODIFIEDS ON FRIDAY, SEPT 10 AT GEORGETOWN

GEORGETOWN, DE – The Sprint Cars Return.

Next Friday, September 10, racing returns to Georgetown Speedway as Northeastern Supply presents the ‘September Showdown.’

The Capitol Renegade United Racing Club (URC) 360 Sprint Cars join the Chesapeake Paving Modifieds to headline the event.

The Modifieds will go 25 laps for $3,000 to win, continuing the Sunoco Race Fuels championship chase.

Boyertown, Pa.’s Ryan Watt leads the points by a 32-point margin over Milford, Del.’s H.J. Bunting. Fellow Milford, Del., native Joseph Watson rounds out the top three, 49 points behind Watt.

Frenchtown, N.J.’s Billy Pauch Jr. will also be in attendance. Pauch Jr. has won each of the last two Chesapeake Paving Modified feature events, including the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco ‘Blast at the Beach’ event.

Felton, Del.’s Andy Best won the URC main event in the 2020 edition of the ‘September Showdown,’ topping Bensalem, Pa.’s Adam Carberry and Middletown, Del.’s J.J. Grasso.

The First State Chevrolet RUSH Late Models will also be on hand for the first time since July 23. Seaford, Del.’s Trevor Collins leads the standings entering the September 10event by 54-points over Millsboro, Del., driver Donald Lingo Jr.

The RUSH Late Models will race for 20-laps around the Sussex County half-mile in a $1,000-to-win feature event.

The Southern Delaware Vintage Stock Cars, Little Lincolns, Delaware Super Trucks, and Delmarva Chargers will also be on hand, each taking part in 12-lap features only races.

For the Sep. 10 event, pit gates open at 4 p.m. with the grandstands opening at 5 p.m. Hot laps are set to begin at 6:20 p.m. with racing following at 7:15 p.m.

Grandstand admission is $20 for Adults, $16 for Seniors (ages 65 and up) and Students (ages 13-17). Kids (ages 9-12) are $10 and Children eight and under are admitted FREE.

Pit admission is $35 (ages 13 and up), $10 for Kids (ages 6-12) and $2 for Children 5 and under.

The event will be streamed live on FloRacing (www.floracing.tv) as part of the annual subscription.

Georgetown Speedway, originally constructed by Melvin L. Joseph in 1949, is located at the intersection of Route 113 and Speedway Road in Georgetown, Del., just miles from the Delaware beaches and less than a 40-minute drive from Ocean City, Md.
