LAKE CITY, FL – The 2022 racing season is approaching quickly for the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco.
The STSS returns to the pristine All-Tech Raceway in Lake City, Fla., for the third annual running of the ‘Sunshine Swing’ Feb. 8-12, 2022.
After a year away due to scheduling conflicts, the STSS returns to Wendell Durrance’s pristine half-mile oval, which was the site of the inaugural ‘Sunshine Swing’ in ’20.
Both the STSS Modifieds and STSS Crate 602 Sportsman kick-off the ’22 campaign with five nights of “Sun, Fun & Speed” in the Sunshine State.
The week begins on Tuesday (Feb. 8) with a night of practice for both divisions. Practice Rounds begin at 6 p.m. and continue until roughly 9 p.m.
Racing begins Wednesday (Feb. 9) as the STSS big-block/small-block Modifieds race for 30 circuits around the half-mile and a $4,000 payday to the winner.
The purse and laps increase each night throughout the week for the STSS Modifieds. Thursday (Feb. 10) the Modifieds go for 35 laps and $5,000 to win. The next night (Friday, Feb. 11), the stakes climb to $6,000 to win in a 40-lap affair.
The week culminates on the final night of racing, as the STSS Modifieds race for an $8,000 paycheck to the winner in a 50-lap championship race.
The STSS Crate 602 Sportsman join the Modifieds each night, going for 25 laps and $1,500 to win and $125 to start on the first two nights of racing (Wednesday and Thursday).
The following two nights the ante ups to $2,000 to win and $150 to start in 30-lap features for the STSS Crate 602 Sportsman to round out the week (Friday and Saturday).
Hot laps begin at 6 p.m. with racing scheduled to follow at 7 p.m. for all four nights of racing.
