The staff and management at Mountain Creek Speedway are proud to announce a multi-year agreement with Whelen Engineering, one of the most trusted names in safety lighting and motorsports. This announcement comes on the heels of more improvements and renovations as MCS as the track gets ready to host micro sprint racing for the foreseeable future. The Whelen brand can be found at most racetrack across America along with being the title sponsors for such NASCAR divisions as the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and formerly, the NASCAR Whelen All American Series.
“We’re honored to have such a company as prestigious as Whelen to come on board and be part of the growing safety improvements at Mountain Creek Speedway.” Said track owner and promoter, Adam Stewart. “Whelen lights are at Cup tracks, Indy car tracks and now, they’ll be at our track.” Speedway communications director, Derek Pernesiglio also shared his thoughts on the announcement. “As a driver, I always felt better racing at tracks with Whelen lights because we knew if the caution came out right away. Now, our drivers will have the added security of being able to see the lights when there is an on-track incident.”
Along with the new lighting system, Mountain Creek Speedway has seen numerous renovations and improvements to both the staff and internal workings of the speedway. Improvements such as new steel walls and fencing, resurfacing a new surface, the introduction of a new website, observation decks, live streaming of races, victory lane, new office building along with paved grids and scales. The Whelen Engineering Company is an American corporation that designs and manufactures audio and visual warning equipment for automotive, aviation, and mass notification industries worldwide. Founded in a Deep River, Connecticut garage in 1952, Whelen has become a provider of warning lights, white illumination lighting, sirens, and controllers. Whelen products are designed, manufactured, and assembled in the United States.
The first racing weekend of the season is April 1st and 2nd. In the meantime, testing and practice sessions are on hold until the speedway staff is finished with renovations. For more information about Mountain Creek Speedway go to www.mountaincreekspeedway.com or call (828) 244-7249
