A busy stretch of races for the ARCA Menards Series continues this weekend with the Tide 150 at Kansas Speedway.
Since the facility opened in 2001, Kansas has been a staple on the ARCA schedule. Both the premier ARCA division and what is now the ARCA Menards Series West took part in Kansas’ inaugural weekend of racing, with Jason Jarrett and Frank Kimmel tallying victories in those respective events.
Since then, Kansas has rewarded both youth and experience with each ARCA event. Alongside Kimmel, who visited Kansas’ Victory Lane three times in the main ARCA division, other notable winners include Ty Gibbs, Alex Bowman, Corey Heim, Christian Eckes and defending series champion Jesse Love.
This weekend’s race at Kansas will be the first of two ARCA visits to the track this season. With Kansas also being the first intermediate track on the schedule, it will provide young drivers a solid test when it comes to off-throttle time and oscillating between multiple grooves.
Tickets to Saturday’s Tide 150 at Kansas Speedway can be purchased here. Below is everything you need to know ahead of the fifth race on the 2024 ARCA Menards Series calendar.
Tide 150 at Kansas Speedway
WHAT TO WATCH FOR:
Last year’s winner Jesse Love is not on the preliminary entry list for the Tide 150, creating an opportunity for others to build momentum.
Leading the stout group of competitors is Connor Mosack, who earned his first ARCA Menards Series victory at Kansas Speedway in the fall driving for Joe Gibbs Racing. Mosack is in the No. 28 for Pinnacle Racing Group, which is fresh off a win at Dover Motor Speedway with Connor Zilisch behind the wheel.
Tanner Gray is taking the wheel of the JGR No. 18 Toyota on Saturday. A veteran of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, Gray has an ARCA Menards Series East victory on his resume at South Boston Speedway but will be chasing his first premier ARCA win at Kansas in his 18th appearance.
Both Mosack and Gray will have to contend with the Venturini Motorsports armada led by Jake Finch, who earned his maiden ARCA victory at Talladega Superspeedway after leading every lap. Dean Thompson also joins the Venturini group for the weekend, seeking to improve upon finishes of second and eighth in his two ARCA starts at Kansas last year.
Making up the rest of the Venturini driver roster are the usual suspects in Kris Wright, Amber Balcaen and Toni Breidinger, the latter of whom earned a career-best ARCA finish of third at Kansas last fall.
Other notable names entered for the Tide 150 include Marco Andretti, Mandy Chick, Will Kimmel, Tanner Reif, Scott Melton and Ryan Roulette.
