With the second half of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season ready to hit the ground running this Saturday at Lancaster Motorplex, Justin Bonsignore is ready for competition in New York. Bonsignore will drive the No. 51 Kenneth Massa Motorsports machine in the Nu-Way Auto Parts 150.

The ninth of 16 races on the Whelen Modified Tour schedule comes at a track where Bonsignore only has two starts, but had success in both. In his first visit in 2021, Bonsignore started third, finished second and led 31 laps. Last year, he started on the pole, finished fourth and led 19 laps.

This time, the No. 51 Phoenix Communications team aims to use their past experience to pounce. Bonsignore enters the race just eight points behind Ron Silk in the championship battle, chasing a third title this year. The summer stretch also includes a stop at Thompson Speedway on Wednesday, August 14 and Oswego Speedway on August 31.

“Lancaster is a unique track,” Bonsignore said. “With the drag strip on the front stretch, you have to search around and try to find grip throughout the race. We’re looking forward to getting back there and showcasing the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour to the great race fans in upstate New York.”

The schedule for race day at Lancaster Motorplex includes one NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour practice session from 4:15-5 p.m., followed by qualifying at 6:45 p.m. and the green flag for the Nu-Way Auto Parts 150 at 8 p.m.
