Due to rain throughout the beginning of the week that has continued into Wednesday morning and weather models showing severe weather this evening, DIRTcar officials have postponed Wednesday’s program for Super DIRT Week 52 in the interest of preserving the track to ensure a better racing program and overall fan experience the rest of the weekend.
The decision comes after consulting with Precision Weather Service and veteran meteorologist Wayne Mahar, who has been tracking the weather all week.
Activity at Oswego Speedway will resume Thursday, Oct. 10, at 10am with a drivers meeting for the DIRTcar Pro Stocks, 10:30am for the DIRTcar Sportsman, and combined drivers meeting for the Super DIRTcar Series and 358 Modified Series drivers at 11am. The Midway will open at 11am with the grandstands to follow at noon. The first on-track activity will commence at 12:40 with DIRTcar Pro Stock practice, followed by practice for the DIRTcar 358 Modifieds.
Super 6 Time Trials for Pro Stocks and 358 Modifieds will follow the practice sessions. At the conclusion of Time Trials, Thursday’s regularly scheduled events will go on track, starting with practice for DIRTcar Sportsman — currently scheduled for 3:15 — directly followed by Super DIRTcar Series Big Block Modified practice. That will be followed by Super 6 Time Trials and Qualifying Heats for the two divisions.
Friday’s on-track activity will consist of Heat Races and Last Chance Showdowns for the Pro Stocks and 358 Modifieds, followed by opening ceremonies before the Pro Stock 50 and Salute to the Troops 150 main events take the green flag.
Along with the on-track action, Thursday will also feature a concert by country artist Nick Start at 12 p.m. and a pre-race show at 6 p.m. – both on the front midway stage. After the races, there will be a post-race DTD Live show in the backstretch midway and a DJ Party at the Island Stage at 9 p.m. All times are subject to change based on weather.
