Three-time NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion Justin Bonsignore heads back to a familiar place this Sunday afternoon. Bonsignore and the Kenneth Massa Motorsports team will return to Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park to compete in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Sunoco World Series 150. With just three races remaining in the Tour season, Bonsignore sits second, just 11 points out of the lead in the title chase.
Thompson has been one of Bonsignore’s best tracks in his career. Hosting 13 of his 42 career wins, Bonsignore’s last Thompson win came in this event last year. In two starts at Thompson so far in 2024, Bonsignore has finished fourth and second.
“We found some bits of information with the setup when we were there in August and we’re excited to build on them and go back even stronger this Sunday,” Bonsignore said. “The World Series weekend has a lot of tradition and racing over three days. Headlining the Sunday portion of the show with the Whelen Modified Tour always draws a great crowd of fans and supporters. Even though we are down to the stretch run, it’s business as usual for us to control what we can control and go out there and get wins.”
Sunday’s schedule at Thompson includes one NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour practice session from 12:25-1:25 p.m., followed by qualifying at 2:15 p.m. and the green flag for the Sunoco World Series 150 at 4:30 p.m. The event will air live on FloRacing.TV for those who are unable to make it to the track.
