(Stafford Springs, CT)—After joining the Stafford Speedway family of contingency sponsors last season, Schofield Springs will return to the contingency program for the 2025 season.  Schofield Springs will provide each SK Modified® second place finisher with a $100 bonus, giving drivers an extra $2,200 to race during the 2025 season.

“We’re happy to once again be sponsoring second place for the SK Modified® division,” said Larry McKinney, co-owner of Schofield Springs. “We’re all looking forward to another exciting and thrilling season of modified racing at Stafford and getting the Schofield Springs name out there to the public.”

The 2024 SK Modified® season saw a whopping 14 different drivers take home a Schofield Springs second place bonus from a 20-race schedule.  Michael Christopher, Jr. led all drivers with 4 second place efforts while Michael Gervais, Jr., Andrew Molleur, and Troy Talman were the only other repeat winners with 2 second place finishes.  10 other drivers notched a second place finish during the 2024 season.

About Schofield Springs

Schofield Springs is co-owned by Larry McKinney of McKinney Construction, Chris Paradiso of Paradiso Insurance, and Scott Nigro of Aqua Pump.  Schofield Springs last year was named Best Tasting Non-Filtered Water from the CT Water Competition and it is a self-service spring water vending machine that is located on River Road / Route 32 on the Willington-Stafford town line.  Schofield Springs is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for customers to purchase water.  The machine dispenses a gallon of water for $1.00 per gallon and customers must bring their own water jugs with them.  The vending machine accepts dollar bills as well as coins.

“It’s a dollar per gallon fill up and with how the water dispenses, you actually get a little more than 1 gallon per dollar and you can fill up a 5-gallon jug for $4.00,” continued McKinney.  “We’re proud to say that Schofield Springs won the award for best tasting non-filtered water last year when we entered the water in the Connecticut Water Competition.  It’s also some of the cleanest water you’ll find anywhere.  We had the water tested when we first purchased Schofield Springs and we continue to have it tested to ensure quality and freshness.”

The first SK Modified® feature of the 2025 season will be held as part of the 53rd Annual NAPA Spring Sizzler®, set for April 26-27. The NAPA Spring Sizzler® kicks off on Saturday, April 26, with feature events for the Late Model, Limited Late Model, and Street Stock divisions, along with SK Light qualifying duel races that will set the field for an extra-distance 30-lap feature event on Sunday, April 27.
