SERVICE PERSONEL RECEIVE 50% OFF GENERAL ADMISSION AT RIVERHEAD RACEWAY SATURDAY ON AMERICA’S MILITARY SERVICE NIGHT

Riverhead, NY May 21st

By Bob Finan

The Memorial Day weekend is a time to pause and reflect upon those who made the ultimate sacrifice serving our great United States of America. Saturday Riverhead Raceway owners Connie Partridge and Tom Gatz additionally will salute the heroes currently serving and those who have served with our armed forces. A 50% discount on general admission tickets will be discounted with gratitude to all military personnel, past or present with proper ID to enjoy a full race program of NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series racing.

“It’s a privilege to salute those who serve or have served in our armed forces” John Ellwood, track GM stated on behalf of track management. “The heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice are owed an immeasurable debt; we have to honor and thank the men and women who have served, let them know how much we appreciate and love them”. The 50% America’s Military Service Night offer is valid only at the general admission entrances for those with valid ID. The standard pit fees for race teams and members apply.

The Eagle Chevrolet Crate Modifieds will headline the fast paced, action pack stock car racing presentation running a 25-lap feature event. To date Owen Grennan of Glen Cove and Richie Davidowitz from East Moriches have visited victory lane, will one become the first repeat winner Saturday, or will a third face merge in victory lane? The Late Model teams are eager to return to racing with a 25-lap feature having not raced since the May 3rd opener when Brandon Turbush of Manorville took the win. Over in the Blunderbust garage area, Cody Triola of Bay Shore has won the first two 20-lap events of 2025, he shoots for a hat trick Saturday.

The INEX sanctioned racers enjoy a prominent role on America’s Military Service Night with four events planned. The INEX Legend Race Cars are back at it for 20-laps with both Kyle Ellwood of Riverhead and Joey Braun of Manorville seeking their second win of the new season. The stars of tomorrow are going to be in full display Saturday with the INEX Bandoleros set for their third meet of the year. Tyler Ross of Westbury hopes for less drama as he aims for his second INEX Bandolero win of the year, while red hot Mason Goodale of Riverhead aims for his third straight INEX Bandolero Bandit triumph. To date, Thomas Grattan of Southold and Aria Ligon of Center Moriches have graced the winner’s circle in the INEX Bandolero Outlaw class, each hope to become a two-time winner Saturday.

The wall-to-wall excitement of Truck Enduro racing goes to post Saturday with Bobby Pease Jr. of Medford, winner of the May Meltdown and Phil LaManna of Smithtown the most recent winner hoping to score a second win on the young season.

General admission will open at 4:00 pm, qualifying commences at 5:15 pm with special opening ceremonies set for 6:15 pm. Adults are $30 ($15 with military ID), kids 6-12 $20, 5 & under are free.
