(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway hosted the Casella Waste SK 80 on Friday, June 6th with defending Street Stock champion Travis Downey capturing his first feature victory of the 2025 season.  Just as Downey was taking the checkered flag, the skies opened up and with rain and lightning in the area, the remainder of the program was postponed to next Friday night, June 13th with a Street Stock feature added to the 80-lap Casella Waste SK 80-lap feature and the remainder of tonight’s program.

In the 20-lap Street Stock feature event, Bill Cote took the lead at the start followed by Isabella Minchella and Brent Gleason.  Gleason made contact with Minchella on lap-3 with Minchella going around but she was able to rejoin the field and the race stayed green.  Travis Downey was on the move after Minchella’s spin and he moved into second behind Cote with Bert Ouellette up to third.  Gleason was fourth in line with Tyler Trott holding fifth position.

With 10 laps down, Cote was still holding the lead with Downey, Ouellette, Gleason, and Trott behind him.  Trott spun on the backstretch and got into the wall to bring the caution flag out with 12 laps complete.

Downey powered his way into the lead on the restart with Ouellette taking second behind him.  Cote slid back to third with Gleason fourth and Aaron Plemons up to fifth.  Just behind Plemons was Brandon Warren and Jason Raymond with PJ Evans, Sean Petlock, and Jeff Asselin making up the top-10.

Downey and Ouellette touched coming out of turn 4 to complete lap-18 but both cars stayed straight and racing.  Ouellette made one last ditch effort on the final lap but he came up just short of Downey as Downey scored his first win of the 2025 season.  Cote finished third with Plemons and Gleason rounding out the top-5.
