WALL, NJ ~ Steven Reed raced to his fourth Wall Modified feature win of the 2025 racing season at Wall Stadium Sunday afternoon, but fifth place finisher Tyler Truex was crowned as the 2025 Modified champion.

The Modified 40 lapper and the Fast Fours 25 lap features were both run on Sunday afternoon after rain interrupted the races the night before after the Sportsman, Factory Stock, Legend Cars and ATQMRA races were in the books.

The Modified feature was led to the green flag by Bryan O’Shea and Jarret DiGiantomasso with Jake Nelke and Tyler Ferris in tow.

After thirty laps of racing slowed just once for a minor spin by James Blewett, leaders O’Shea and DiGiantomasso tangled in front of the field on the restart. Both slid into the infield.

This put Reed in the lead for the first time and set up a dramatic points race for the final ten laps. Truex restarted seventh, the exact spot he needed to finish to win his first Modified championship if Reed won the race.

Reed maintained the lead for final ten laps with Truex clearing Tommy Martino, Jr. and Derek Hopkinson over the final 10 lap sprint to take the title. Andrew Krause and Eddie McCarthy were second and third, Tyler Ferris ended up fourth a much relieved Truex was fifth.

“I’m happy to get the win but as I said a couple of weeks ago I was really pulling for Tyler to get his first championship,” Reed said. “His family and his team are deserving of the title after all they have put into racing.”

“I was so nervous after the race rained out last night,” Truex said. “This is a proud moment for the Truex family and for Kevin Cranmer who knows how to set up and maintain a race car.”

Kevin Davison, a five time past Sportsman division champion, won the 25-lap feature finale. A difficult early season that included an engine failure and a pair of rare wrecks kept him from being a late season title contender.

That crown was earned by Chris Silvestri with an eighth place finish.  Silvestri’s hopes for a repeat championship seemed dashed after he was ordered to the rear of the field for a spin by leader Avery Arthofer who lost control because of a Silvestr, in the opinion of officials.

Silvestri then restarted and began working his way back forward. Zach Lenardo, Silvestri’s rival in the title chase, was running second, ended up hitting the homestretch wall, sliding into the infield and was done for the night. That made Silvestri the track champion.

Race winner Davison was trailed to the line by by Quinn Trimmer, Billy Both, Ryan Kuhlthau, making his first start of the season, and Sean Vuksanic.

Brian Osborn won his third 25 lap Factory Stock feature of the season but Shanon Mongeau collected his third career championship with a sixth place finish.

“This is for John Webber,” Mongeau said, his voice breaking. “John passed away a few weeks ago. I know he wanted to see his car win this track championship.”

Rob Anderton, James Hall IV, John Carpenter, and Jared Okerson trailed Osborn to the checkered flag.

The most dramatic championship fight came in Sunday’s 25-lap Fast Four feature. Ian Ashford and TJ Graves had come into the final feature deadlocked in points. Whoever finished ahead would be the champion.

With Billy Pross passing both Graves and Ashford late in the non-stop event, Ashford led Graves over the final laps for second with Graves closing in. Lapped traffic slowed Ashford’s pace slightly, allowing Graves to catch up to Ashford in the third turn on the final lap.

Graves nudged Ashford just enough to take second spot in the run to the finish line for second and the title.

Ryan Tidman sliced through the ATQMRA Three Quarter Midget pack to win a non-stop victory and claim the 2025 Wall Stadium TQ Midget title. Blake Barney and Tyler Ferris were a distant second and third.

Wall Stadium will return to action this Saturday night, October 4 when the SMAC Supermodfieds invade the oval along with the open cockpit TQ Midgets. A stunt show will also entertain fans. Qualifying is at 5:00 p.m. with main events starting at 7:00 p.m.

Wall Stadium is located on Route 34 in Wall Township, N.J., just one mile north of Garden State Parkway exit 98 and Interstate 195 exit 35B. Visit wallstadiumspeedway.com. The speedway hotline number is 732-681-6400 and email address is ckmotorsports@aol.com.
