(Stafford Springs, CT)—The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will make its highly anticipated return to Stafford Speedway on Friday, August 28, 2026, for a 150-lap event sponsored by Riverhead Building Supply. The return marks a celebrated reunion between two icons of Modified racing—the Tour and the track where generations of the sport’s greatest moments have unfolded.

“Riverhead Building Supply is a proud sponsor of Stafford Motor Speedway, and we’re excited to see the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour return to the premier short track in 2026,” said Eric Goodale, driver of the No. 58 Riverhead Building Supply Modified. “The rich history shared between Stafford and RBS makes this partnership a perfect fit to

bring the best in Modified racing back to the New England racing community.”

“Few places embody the soul of Modified racing like Stafford Speedway,” said Joey Dennewitz, Managing Director, NASCAR Regional. “From its legendary battles to its generations of loyal fans, Stafford has always been a cornerstone of The Tour’s heritage. We heard the fans, we heard the competitors. They were united in one message: bring Stafford back. We couldn’t be prouder to do exactly that. The return of Stafford isn’t just a nod to history; it’s a celebration of everything that makes the Whelen Modified Tour so special—passion, grit, and relentless fire.”

“There’s no place like home for the Modifieds, and Stafford Speedway has always been that home,” said Paul Arute, General Manager of Stafford Speedway. “Our history with the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour runs deep, spanning generations. With support from our friends at Riverhead Building Supply, we’re proud to welcome the Tour back and

carry that tradition forward next August.”

The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour last competed at Stafford Speedway in 2022, marking the end of a decades-long run that featured some of the most memorable finishes in Modified history. The 2026 return will rekindle that legacy, bringing the nation’s best Modified drivers back to the track that helped define the division.

The full 2026 Stafford Speedway schedule will be released on Friday, October 24th, with season ticket and pit passes going on sale the same day at StaffordSpeedway.com
