Wall Township, NJ – Jamie “The Jet” Tomaino is the latest driver to confirm his attendance at this Saturday’s Hall of Fame Night at Wall Stadium, sponsored by The Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh. Best known for winning the 1990 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour championship, Tomaino also visited Victory Lane 28 times at Wall Stadium between 1978 and 1991.
“Getting Jamie to come back was huge,” said Wall Stadium Director of Racing Operations Pete Maletto. “He still has so many fans at Wall Stadium, and I know they can’t wait to see him this Saturday.”
Tomaino, whose grandson Ryder competed in his first Sportsman feature this past Saturday night and finished fifth, is the latest of nearly 60 legendary figures confirmed to attend Saturday night’s celebration.
Attendees include drivers, car owners, officials, letterers and media members such as Bernie Bailey, Bob McCollough, Bob Punzi, Carl Thomas, Charlie Kremer Jr., Chas Okerson, Craig Pollard, Danny Bohn, Dave Michel, Deb Gastelu, Derek Hopkinson, Dick Barney, Doug Wolcott, Eddie Bohn, Eric Mauriello, Frank Antonides, Frank Boardwick, Gil Hearne, George Andretta, Harold Dauncey, Harry Reed, Henry O’Neil, Jack Buck, Jamie Tomaino, Jason Hearne, Jeff Carpenter, Jimmy Blewett, Jim Smith, Joe Mongeau, Johnny Luhrs, Ken Woolley Jr., Kenny Matlach, Kevin Davison, Kevin Eyres, Larry Patterson, Lenny Sammons, Mike Carpenter, Nick Shaw, Pete Brittain, Ray Liss, Ray Shea, Rich Mongeau, Robert French, Robert Schlechtweg, Ryan Flores, Shanon Mongeau, Shawna (Ingraham) Mauriello, Steve Barrick, Steve Golembeski, Steven Reed, Tim Arre, Tom Mauser, Tony Ferrante Sr., Tony Ferrante Jr., Tony Siscone and Tyler Truex.
In addition to thousands of feature victories and well over 100 track championships represented by those in attendance, a number of vintage race cars will also be on display throughout the evening.
The reunion will open at 4 p.m., with an autograph session from 4:30-5:30 p.m. before qualifying begins at 6 p.m. A special limited-edition Hall of Fame autograph poster will be available for fans in attendance.
The Hall of Fame 100 for the NASCAR Modifieds will headline the on-track action, paying $3,000 to win.
The NASCAR Sportsman, O’Shea’s Auto Repair Factory Stocks and Surf Side Collision 4-Cylinders will complete the racing program.
Gates will open and practice will begin at 4 p.m., qualifying is set to start at 6 p.m., and feature racing takes the green flag at 7:30 p.m. Adults (18+) are $30, Seniors (62+) and Military with ID are $20, Children (7-17) are $15, and children ages 6 and under are admitted FREE. Pre-sale tickets are available on the Wall Stadium website.
Coming up on Saturday, August 8, the NASCAR Sportsman will take center stage with Twin 25-lap feature events. The evening will also feature the Ace & John John Lane Memorial for the ATQMRA TQ Midgets, along with the O’Shea’s Auto Repair Factory Stocks and Surf Side Collision 4-Cylinders.
