- After a weekend off, the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour returns to action this Wednesday night, August 5 at
Connecticut’s Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park for the running of the Thompson 150 presented by
FloSports.com. The event is the 11th race of the 2026 season. - The Thompson 150 presented by FloSports.com is the 160th NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race held at
Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park dating back to 1985. No other track has held more Whelen Modified Tour
events. - Wednesday’s race is round two of the FloRacing Connecticut Challenge, a special four-race miniseries featuring
all the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour events held in the state of Connecticut. As a result of his victory earlier
this year at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, Stephen Kopcik leads the miniseries standings. - Patrick Emerling enters Wednesday’s event as the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour points leader following three
consecutive victories at Claremont Motorsports Park, White Mountain Motorsports Park and Monadnock
Speedway. He leads Austin Beers by 16 points with six events left in the 2026 season. - Patrick Emerling’s three consecutive victories marks just the 18th time in series history a driver has won at least
three races in a row. The most recent prior to Emerling was Justin Bonsignore, who won three consecutive events
to conclude the 2024 season. - If Patrick Emerling can win Wednesday’s race at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, he will become just the
third driver in series history to win four consecutive races. The only drivers to accomplish that thus far are Richie
Evans (1985) and Mike Stefanik (1997), each of whom won five consecutive races to set the series record for
consecutive wins. - Patrick Emerling has won the last two summer midweek NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour events at Thompson
Speedway Motorsports Park in 2024 and 2025. Last season he started at the rear of the field following an
unapproved pre-race adjustment but drove back through the field to win. - In the 159 previous NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour races at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, only 39
drivers have visited Victory Lane. Mike Stefanik leads all drivers with 15 career Whelen Modified Tour triumphs at
Thompson. - Cory DiMatteo is scheduled to make his first NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour start since 2023 on Wednesday
evening. His only previous start came at Richmond Raceway, where he finished 21st
. - Max Zachem is scheduled to make his fourth NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour of the season Wednesday night. In
his most recent race at Claremont Motorsports Park, he finished sixth, his first top 10 finish since 2019.
