A PRELUDE TO THE RACE OF CHAMPIONS WEEKEND IN OCTOBER

— FOAR Score Dash Series Also On The Card —

Tioga Center, NY (August 17,, 2026) — This Saturday night, August 22, the Race of Champions Sportsman Modifieds will roar into Shangri-La II Speedway for the “Salute to the Southern Tier” with an event that will be a prelude to the “Big One” in October.

Along with the RoC Sportsman, fans can expect to see the FOAR Score Dash series.  As the supporting class, they will help keep the action pumping all night long. The Shangri-La II Hobby Stocks will round out the card.

Saturday also marks the second time that the Race of Champions Sportsman Modified Series have been to Shangri-La II for the 2026 season. Nick Morich from Horseheads, NY won last month in the Series first visit to the track, but the hottest driver in the Series is young Andrew Lewis, Jr., from Ontario, NY, who scored his second victory of the season this past Friday at Spencer Speedway.

“Shangri-La II is awesome,” stated Lewis, Jr. “It’s fast and it has passing opportunities. We are looking forward to this Saturday to see if we can continue to improve on our season. It’s going to be an exciting race.”

● Qualifying Begins: 6:00 PM

● Location: 114 Skyline Drive, Barton NY — located just a few miles from Owego, NY and Interstate 86

● Adults: $20

● Seniors/Military: $15

● Kids (Ages 10-15): $10

● Kids 9 & Under: FREE
