Hagerstown Speedway Welcomes Short Track Super Series Oct. 16-17 for ‘Octoberfest’

HAGERSTOWN, MD – The red clay of Maryland’s Hagerstown Speedway will again welcome the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco for two days of October racing.

After a successful comeback last year, the ‘Octoberfest’ is set for Friday-Saturday Oct. 16-17.

On Saturday (Oct. 17), the STSS Modified NJ Quality Drywall South Region Modifieds hit the half-mile oval with heat races, consolations and a 50-lap feature paying $7,000 to win, $1,000 for 10th and $500 to take the green flag. Four Star Racing Products Inc. and Keizer Wheels have added $1,000 in Spec 358-Modified bonuses: $500, $300, $200 for the Saturday event.

Also on the Saturday program: STSS Sportsman Belmont’s Garage South Region Sportsman with heat races, consolations and a 25-lap, $2,000-to-win event.

Both STSS Modified and Sportsman South Region champions will be crowned at Hagerstown.

Michael Maresca leads Alex Yankowski by just 12 points in the NJ Quality Drywall South Region Modified title fight with Danny Creeden 59 points back in third place.

Only 34 points separate the top four drivers in the Belmont’s Garage South Region Sportsman championship battle: Matt Peck tops Robbie Emery by 20 points, Joe Toth by 23 and Travis Hill by 34.

As the final event, championship points will be awarded (150-point structure).

Also competing on Saturday are Hagerstown’s Late Model Sportsman and Crown Vics.

On Saturday, pit gates open at 2 p.m., with grandstand gates unlocked at 3 p.m. Dirt Draft Hot Laps hit the track at 5 p.m. and racing gets underway at 6 p.m.

Saturday grandstand admission is $25 (Adults), $20 (Seniors 65-plus, Military with ID) and Kids 12 and under are FREE.

Pit admission is $50 (ages 13 and up) and $10 (Kids ages 12 and under). 

Friday night (Oct. 16), Spec 358-Modifieds headline the program in a 30-lap, $3,000-to-win program. Practice rounds will be available for STSS Modifieds and Sportsman (two drivers will advance directly to the Saturday Beyea Custom Headers Redraw).

Crate Late Models and Crown Vics will complete the Friday program.

Pit gates open at 2 p.m. on Friday. Grandstands open at 4 p.m. Hot laps hit the track at 6 p.m. and racing begins at 7 p.m.

Friday grandstand admission is $20 (Adults), $15 (Seniors 65-plus and Military with ID) and Kids 12 and under are FREE.

Pit admission is $45 (ages 13 and up) and $10 (Kids ages 12 and under).

Weekend passes are available. Grandstand weekend passes cost $45 (Adults) and $35 (Seniors 65-plus and Military with ID). Pit weekend passes are $95 (ages 13 and up) and $20 (Kids ages 12 and under).
