GAFFNEY, SC – It’s “go” time.
With the ‘Sunshine Swing’ complete, attention turns to the highly anticipated kickoff to the Halmar International ‘Elite’ Series for the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco Thurs.-Sat. Feb. 24-26.
The inaugural event takes place at one of the country’s most notorious facilities: Gaffney, S.C.’s Cherokee Speedway. The STSS heads to the Gaffney oval for the second time in three years.
“The Place Your Mama Warned You About” serves as the home of the inaugural event for the highest-paying series in Northeast Modified history. The Modifieds will race in pursuit of a $25,000 grand prize, the first of six ‘Elite’ events during the season.
The ‘Rebel 50’ features a purse of over $80,000 total, with certificates and bonus awards to be handed out to competitors as well.
Fans and competitors alike have circled the ‘Rebel 50’ event on calendars since the announcement of the Halmar International ‘Elite’ Series came last November.
