Delaware State Sportsmen’s Association Night – featuring the return of the Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series to Georgetown Speedway – has been rescheduled for Friday, June 24.
After a saturated track surface from heavy overnight rainfall forced speedway management to postpone the June 3 event, the Sussex County half-mile oval roars back to life on the 24th with a complete program of live and local stock car racing.
The event and its entirety has been moved to June 24, including the following:
· J.W. Brown Logging Modifieds – 25 laps, $3,000 To Win
· First State Chevrolet RUSH Late Models – 20 Laps, $1,000 to Win
· Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series
· Southern Delaware Vintage Stocks Cars
· Little Lincolns
· Delaware Super Trucks
· Delmarva Chargers
For RUSH Late Model competitors, 25 points will be awarded to drivers competing at Georgetown or in the ‘Firecracker’ weekend at Lernerville (Pa.) Speedway.
Pit Gates Open: 4 p.m. – Grandstand Gates Open: 5 p.m. – Hot Laps: 6:45 p.m. – Racing: 7:30 p.m.
Grandstand Admission: $20 (Adults) – $16 Seniors (ages 65 & up) & Students (ages 13-17) – $10 Kids (ages 9-12) – Children 8 & under FREE
Pit Admission: $35 (ages 13 & up) – $10 Kids (ages 6-12) – $2 Children (ages 5 & under)
The event will be broadcast live on FloRacing for those unable to attend.
Georgetown Speedway, originally constructed by Melvin L. Joseph in 1949, is located at the intersection of Route 113 and Speedway Road in Georgetown, Del., just miles from the Delaware beaches and less than a 40-minute drive from Ocean City, Md.
