Slate Harrell, Karter Beattie, Brexton Busch, Michael Hubert and Matt Thompson were among the names of winners Sunday in the Autumn Action Weekend presented by K&M Collision at Mountain Creek Speedway. Fifty-Seven entries filed spread across five divisions made for a competitive afternoon of racing.

In the Cadet A-main Slate Harrell weathered a few late race cautions to take the checkers and his second consecutive win. Reece Beamer chased him the entire race but had to settle for second. Brylon Earnhardt, Brantley Lamb and Caden Outz completed the top five. Brexton Busch went unchallenged with the exception of a few yellow flags in the Beginner Box Stock A-main. He led wire to wire for his second consecutive win and third overall. Nolan Fohr had a strong run from fifth to second, Mason Treader also moved up three spots from sixth to third, Carson McKee and Dylan Boreman were fourth and fifth.

Karter Beattie has been on a tear, Beattie has won two of the three Box Stock races run this week and Sunday afternoon he put it on cruise control, winning in dominating fashion at the speedway by the creek. Spencer Bradshaw, whose sponsor, K&M Collision was tittle sponsor of the weekend, started on the pole but had to settle for second. The rest fo the top five were comprised of Kolson Nelson, Payton Johnson and Zoey Smith.

The entire field was inverted for the Yamaha 450 A-main event which proved to make an interesting race. At the drop of the green Michael Hubert, starting ninth went high, when everyone else traffic jammed down low fighting for position. Hubert moved to second by lap one and ran down early race leader Richard Miller. Miller dropped out with mechanical trouble handing second to Andrew Mattesen. Father, Lou came from ninth to finish third while Sam Miller and point leader Dylan Beard were fourth and fifth.

Matt Thompson led every lap running the top line of the speedway in the 270/600R Micro A-Main. Thompson dominated while Alanna Bloniasz, Hannah Inman and Adam Bubeck rounded out the top four. The next race for outlaw karts and micro sprints at Mountain Creek Speedway will be the second Annual Chad Bush Clash presented by the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation November 13th. When the track isn’t racing, it’s busy Monday through Friday with testing and practice sessions for everything from flat karts to national midgets. The track will also be available for testing and practice days throughout the year. Those wishing to reserve rental or testing days can contact Jason Queen at (828)413-6890 for details and availability.
