MDP MOTORSPORTS PRODUCTIONS LEASING FACILITY TO PROMOTE OPEN MODIFIED EVENT IN NEW HAMPSHIRE
WALPOLE, N.H. – MDP Motorsports Productions and Star Speedway officials jointly announced today that the track will hold the Racing Honoring Racers 100 Open Modified event on July 1, 2023. As part of an Independence Day celebration at ‘The Place to Race’, MDP Motorsports Productions is leasing the New Hampshire facility to promote this major event.
Originally – Star Speedway was set to have this weekend off in 2023 – however, MDP Motorsports Productions owner Mike Parks struck a deal with track owner Bobby Webber to make the event happen. Parks, who was the General Manager of Claremont Motorsports Park for the past few seasons, is also the owner and promoter of the Granite State Pro Stock Series. Both Webber and Parks have worked together multiple times previously with the track and Pro Stock competition.
This time, Parks is excited to get back to work with the first of what he hopes is at least a few events each season that MDP Motorsports Productions puts together. Parks will also continue to operate the Granite State Pro Stock Series in 2023.
Purse information and support divisions for the 100-lap race will be announced at a later date, but fans can expect a lucrative purse.
“It was an opportunity that came up with Dick Williams and The Racing Guys and it’s one I couldn’t pass up,” Parks said. “We have worked together before during my time at Claremont and The Racing Guys are all about putting on a good show for the fans and making sure to reward the drivers with a good purse structure to make their trip to the track worth it. Star Speedway is a perfect place for the ground-pounding action of Modified racing, and we’re excited to bring the cars there for another great show. We look forward to seeing the Star Speedway grandstands packed again.”
Bobby Webber, owner of Star Speedway, is excited to sit back and see Parks take center stage.
“Mike and I have always worked well in our business relationships over the years,” Bobby Webber said. “We had originally planned to have this weekend off, but when Mike called, we were happy to lease him the facility to see him hold this special event. We have multiple Modified races planned for the 2023 season and the dedicated Star Speedway fans always enjoy Modified racing. We’re looking forward to seeing the best of the best chase the prize at this July 1 event in 2023.”
Star Speedway’s full 2023 schedule was released just a few weeks ago and includes events from April through October. The MDP Motorsports Productions 2023 schedule, including for the Granite State Pro Stock Series, will be announced at a later date.
