Barre, VT — One of the most decorated veterans of the American-Canadian Tour is returning to the driver’s seat after seven years of standing pit side, playing crew chief and supporting daughter Taylor and Step-son Justin Prescott as they’ve taken their own turns behind the wheel. Eight-time ACT Tour champion Brian Hoar has gotten the bug once again, rebuilt his GossDodge.com Late Model stable and is prepared to make several appearances on the American-Canadian Tour in 2023 staring with the ACT Spring Sizzler 75 at Stafford Speedway on April 29th.

When asked what flipped the switch, Hoar responded “Obviously I fell and bumped my head at some point last season!” The Williston, Vermont-native tearfully stepped away from the American-Canadian Tour at the conclusion of the 2015 season at the Tour’s first event at Thompson Speedway since 1992. It was a monumental occasion for both the Tour and for Hoar who walked away with a checkered flag in his hand to go out on top. Since then, Brian has been assisting his daughter Taylor Hoar navigate the rk Miles Street Stocks and his step-son Justin Prescott in the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, both strong support divisions at ‘The Nation’s Site of Excitement,’ Barre, Vermont’s Thunder Road. Both young-guns have proven to be quite the racers in their own right, setting the stage for Hoar’s busy 2023.

“Right now I’m planning on running 4-6 shows this season beginning with the Stafford ACT race,” said Hoar. “The plan is to run Lee and try to get a White Mountain weekly race in to prepare for the Milton Cat Midsummer 250 in August. I blame that race last year for giving me the bug to get back behind the wheel.”

Along with his own plans, both Taylor and Justin are stepping up to the Late Model ranks as well. Prescott has been slated to take command of the Arny Hill-owned 04VT A.H. Fence Chevrolet to challenge for the Maplewood/Irving Oil Late Model Rookie of the Year at Thunder Road while Taylor is looking to jump into the Late Model ranks three or four times throughout the season as well.

“When we received his paperwork at the office, we were all surprised,” said ACT managing partner Cris Michaud. “Brian went out on top at Thompson after a 23-year absence for ACT and now he’s back to join a rekindled partnership at Stafford that hasn’t seen ACT in 37 years. Do you believe in miracles?”

The Thunder and Lightning of the American-Canadian Tour returns to Stafford Motor Speedway for the first time since 1985 on Saturday, April 29th for the ACT Spring Sizzler 75. The event is set to feature the brightest stars of the era including former ACT champions Brian Hoar, Joey Polewarczyk Jr., Jimmy Hebert and defending champion D.J. Shaw along with a litany of young-guns led by Derek Gluchacki, Erick Sands and Alexendre ‘Fireball’ Tardif. Alongside the ACT spectacular will be the NAPA Auto Parts Duels for Open Modified qualifying rounds into Sunday’s 51st Spring Sizzler, Street Stocks, Limited Late Models and the Vintage All-Stars.
