DUNDEE, NY – The 10th anniversary season of the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco roars into June with a stop at Outlaw Speedway in Dundee, N.Y., Tuesday, June 6.
The annual visit to the Finger Lakes four-tenths-mile oval owned and promoted by driver Tyler Siri is highlighted by the Dave Machuga Memorial Outlaw Showdown paying the STSS Modifieds $5,078.78 to the winner after 50 laps.
The 10th-place finisher takes home $1,000, with $500 reserved to take the green flag plus contingency awards and bonuses.
Machuga, a well-respected driver, fabricator and mechanic, passed away in Oct. 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer. Machuga was known for his No. 78 ‘Orange Blossom Special’ and that trademark number will be incorporated into the event.
The visit to Dundee serves as Round No. 3 of the River Valley Builders North Region championship chase.
After victories in southeastern New York at Orange County Fair Speedway in April and Accord Speedway in May, Matt Sheppard of Savannah, N.Y., leads the standings into Outlaw over Mat Williamson, Dillon Steuer, Anthony Perrego and Andy Bachetti.
Joining the STSS-sanctioned Modifieds are the Crate 602 Sportsman ($2,078.78 to win), Street Stocks ($1,778.78 to win) and Four Cylinders ($1,078.78 to win), all under Outlaw Speedway rules and procedures.
