STSS DIAMOND STATE 50 AT DELAWARE INTERNATIONAL POSTPONED TO WEDNESDAY

DELMAR, DE – Postponed.

The ‘Diamond State 50’ at Delaware International Speedway will move to its scheduled rain date of Wednesday, May 8.

The Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco heads to the Delaware-Maryland border for the Round No. 3 of the NJ Quality Drywall South Region and the Ollie’s Overall Championship.

With forecasted rain over the course of Tuesday, STSS promoter Brett Deyo and Delaware International Speedway officials agreed to move to Wednesday’s rain date.

“The forecast for Wednesday is great,” Deyo explained. “We didn’t want to wait and hurt the chances for our racers and fans to make it to this event.”

The STSS big-block Modifieds will go for 50-laps in pursuit of a $5,000 top prize at the Cathell family half-mile oval.

The STSS Crate 602 Sportsman are also on the card for 25-laps and a $1,500 winner’s share in Round No. 3 of the Belmont’s Garage South Region.

For the May 8 event, pit gates open at 3 p.m. with grandstand gates unlocking at 4:30 p.m. Hot laps are slated for 6:30 p.m. with racing to follow at 7:15 p.m.

Grandstand admission is $25 for Adults, $20 for Seniors (ages 65 & up) and Students (ages 13-17), $10 for Kids (ages 9-12), and Children 8 & under are admitted FREE.

Pit admission is $45 (ages 13 & up), $10 for Kids (ages 6-12) and $2 for Children 5 & under.
