VERNON, NY – The Dog Days.

The Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco is set to embark on a jam-packed July.

Two races sit on the docket this month, coming within three days of each other; Vermont’s Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Sunday, June 16 and New Jersey’s New Egypt Speedway on Tuesday, June 18.

The championship chase for all three title fights will take shape in July, however, with six races spanning the 31 days, with five of them under the River Valley Builders North Region banner.

Things kick off on Wednesday, July 3, with the sixth annual ‘Firecracker 50’ at New York’s Fonda Speedway. The STSS big-block/small-block Modifieds go for 50 laps and a $10,000 top prize.

The NJ Quality Drywall South Region takes the stage for the lone time in July on Sunday, July 7 at Bridgeport Motorsports Park in New Jersey. The high-banked four-tenths-mile oval hosts the 50 lap, $5,000-to-win ‘South Jersey Shootout.’

The following Thursday, July 11, Dundee, N.Y.’s Outlaw Speedway hosts the ‘Dave Machuga Memorial Outlaw Showdown.’ The 50-lap affair pays $7,078 to the first to cross the finish line.

Utica-Rome Speedway in Vernon, N.Y., pulls into the limelight on Thursday, July 18 with the ‘Richie Evans Remembered.’ The Central New York oval honors one of its greatest drivers with a 61 lap, $6,100-to-win main event.

The month concludes with the second annual ‘Lumberjack Swing’ as the STSS heads back to the province of Quebec in Canada. Autodrome Granby hosts a 50-lap, $10,000-to-win feature on Tuesday, July 30.

The next night (Wednesday, July 31), the STSS Modifieds move over to Le RPM Speedway for another 50 lap, $10,000-to-win main event.

In total, $48,178 in winners’ share money alone is up for grabs in the month of July for the STSS big-block/small-block Modifieds.

When the month concludes – weather permitting – the River Valley Builders North Region will have completed Round No. 8 of its championship chase. The NJ Quality Drywall South Region will be through Round No. 6 of the tour and the Ollie’s Overall Championship will be through 14 Rounds.

The STSS Crate 602 Sportsman join the events at Fonda, Bridgeport, and Utica-Rome in the Madsen Overhead Doors North Region and the Belmont’s Garage South Region.
