WYOMING COUNTY INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY “THE BULLRING” AND RACE OF CHAMPIONS MANAGEMENT FORCED MAKE DECISION TO CANCEL SATURDAY, JUNE 29, 2024 EVENT DUE TO FORECASTED SEVERE CONDITIONS

Perry, N.Y.  – (June 28, 2024) – After continuing to review the current forecast which includes inclement weather (predicted “severe conditions” high amounts of precipitation and high winds) Wyoming County International Speedway “The Bullring” and Race of Champions Family of Series management has agreed to cancel the event scheduled for Saturday, June 29, 2024.

From NWS Storm Prediction Center;  “SEVERE WEATHER POTENTIAL SATURDAY… scattered severe thunderstorms with possible damaging wind gusts and large hail. Even though occasional morning showers and thunderstorms become scattered during the afternoon, a few storms could still become severe later in the day. There will be a low-end tornado risk with the threat being greatest along the Pennsylvania border. Saturday will be a very active day with soaking rain and strong to severe storms. Stay weather aware.”

This event will not be rescheduled.

The Race of Champions “Family of Series” will return to “The Bullring” for “The Shootout on Saturday, October 5th, 2024.

The next event for the Race of Champions “Family of Series” is Friday, July 12 at Spencer Speedway in Williamson, NY, featuring the Race of Champions Sportsman Modified Series and the only visit of the Race of Champions Late Model Series to the 1/2-mile speedway this season.

The Race of Champions is a sanctioning body presenting Modified and Stock Car racing on asphalt and dirt surfaces throughout the Northeast, with events in New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey with primary marketing partners Hoosier Racing Tire, VP Racing Fuels, Racing America, Airport Collision, Rocket Performance, Waddell Communications, Image X Design, Sherwood Racing Wheels, DirtTrackDigest.com and Speed Sport. The 72nd and 74th annual Race of Champions weekend will take place in 2024 at Lake Erie Speedway in North East, Pennsylvania and is the second longest consecutive auto-racing event in North America, second only to the Indianapolis 500.
