WALL, NJ ~ Kyle Scisco of Jackson and Holmdel’s Andrew Krause each enjoyed a comeback victory of sorts at Wall Stadium Speedway Saturday night in a pair of 35 lap Modified feature races. For Scisco the victory came in his first start since suffering an hand injury at the end of May. For Krause, the win came after mechanical trouble knocked him out of the first main event.

Scisco proved in the first race that he did not get rusty during his layoff as he  jumped to the front from the stafrt of the non-stop contest. Jackson’s Steven Reed, who also returned after a long layoff, chased Scisco the entire way, offering several challenges during the event. Defending champ Derek Hopkinson of Milltown, Blake Barney and Jarret DiGiantomasso, both of Jackson, were fourth and fifth.

The second Modified race was slowed by several cautions as Bryan O’Shea of Netune City fought off Joey Merlino of Pine Hill. Meanwhile, Krause was fighting his way to the front from his starting spot in dead last. When O’Shea and Merlino spun on lap 18, Reed took over the top spot with Krause right on his bumper. Krause then dove to the inside lane for the lead a few laps later as Red Bank’s Tommy Martino, Jr. soon took over for second. Martino then taunted Krause to the finish line as Tyler Ferris of Wall and Dover’s James Pritchard were third and fourth. Reed finished fifth.

Brick’s Robert Sutphin enjoyed a comeback of his own in the companion 25 lap race for the Sportsman cars. After suffering a recent tangle while leading and a blown motor, Sutphin grabbed his first win of the season over Neil Rutt III of Colts Neck, Hazlet’s Chris Silvestri, Quinn Trimmer and Jimmy Stanger.

Rob Anderton of Howell won his second Factroy Stock 25-lapper of the year racing into the lead on lap 14. Scott Riggleman and Bob Anderton we second and third, while Logan Fraser and John Bowers completed the top five.

Mike Alcaro of Milford won his career 50th Legned Cars feature race over Ryan Kulthau, Ryan MacCormmack, Brian Gardella and Tyler Pappas.

Mike Lavery of Orangeburg, NY took the lead on lap 14 and raced on to the Fast 4 25 lap win. Alonzo Morales, TJ Graves, Joe Pressey and Jerry Stanzione were second third fifth.

Ryan Tidman was the winner of the 25 lap race for the touring Three Quarter Midgets, racing to the front on lap five. Buddy Sload, Tyler Ferris, Mark Yoder and Tyler Wagner completed the top five.
