Martinsville, VA (September 6, 2024) – The Robert Jeffreys Memorial for the SMART Modified Tour powered by Pace-O-Matic at Caraway Speedway on Saturday, September 7, pays tribute to an important figure in the culture of Southern Modified racing.
Robert Jeffreys won the inaugural SMART Modified Tour race at Langley Field Speedway (now Langley Speedway – VA) on April 9, 1989. He went on to make 77-starts with the series and accumulated three victories.
Jeffreys was also a mainstay at Bowman Gray Stadium (Winston-Salem, NC) for years with 720 career starts. Along the way, the elder statesman of the Jeffreys racing family would collect 33 victories and two NASCAR Modified championships (1994 and 1995).
Robert Jeffreys’ son, Lee, will race the 99-lap race at Caraway Speedway this weekend.
