Three-time NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion Justin Bonsignore will compete in two events this weekend at North Wilkesboro Speedway. Bonsignore will make his first start in the SMART Modified Tour, driving the No. 51 for Ken Massa Motorsports in the 99-lap SMART season finale on Saturday evening. On Sunday, Bonsignore returns to NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour racing in the Brushy Mountain Powersports 150, the penultimate race of the season.

Bonsignore enters Sunday’s Tour race just five points behind Ron Silk in the championship battle with two races remaining in the season. Last year, he finished third at North Wilkesboro. He’s coming off his 43rd career NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour win last Sunday at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, giving him sole possession of third on the all-time list.

“North Wilkesboro is such a historic track,” Bonsignore said. “A doubleheader of racing sounds like an awesome weekend. Definitely excited to try something new on Saturday and join the SMART Modified Tour… It will be a good opportunity for us to learn a few things and chase a trophy. Our goals for the rest of the Whelen Modified Tour season are simple… we know all we can do is control going out there and trying to do our job, racing for the win. We have some momentum on our side and look forward to using it for the next two weeks.”

Saturday’s schedule for the SMART Modified Tour race includes practice from 1-1:55 p.m., followed by qualifying at 3:15 p.m. and the green flag for the 99-lap race at 7:15 p.m. On Sunday, NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour teams will hit the track from 10:30-11:30 a.m. for practice, followed by qualifying at 1 p.m. and the green flag for the Brushy Mountain Powersports 150 at 2 p.m. All events for the weekend will air live on FloRacing.TV.
