Andy Jankowiak Returns to the #73 Fresh from Victory Lane as Vincent Arthur
and A.J. Waller Join the Team as Fresh Faces at Two-Day Pre-Season Test
Mooresville, NC (January 7th, 2025) – The off-season ends this week for the KLAS Motorsports team as they head to Daytona International Speedway for a two-day ARCA Menards Series test session. Andy Jankowiak will return to the seat of the team’s #73 while a pair of development drivers, Vincent Arthur and A.J. Waller, will test the #73B entry on Thursday and Friday.
Arthur is a 21-year-old Maryland native, and Waller is a Florida Late Model driver who is part of the driver development program for Joey Gase Motorsports with Scott Osteen.
Jankowiak had a busy week leading up to the Daytona test. He competed in Allentown, Pennsylvania over the past weekend in the Ironton Global Allentown Indoor Auto Racing Series TQ Midget event. Jankowiak won Saturday night’s feature during the two-day event. It was his eighth career victory in the series, placing him third on the all-time win list.
Arthur might not have raced this past week, but he comes to KLAS Motorsports with a diverse resume within the sport. He is a mechanical engineering student at the University of North Carolina Charlotte who serves as a race engineer at the TRICON Garage NASCAR Truck Series team. He is an accomplished eSports athlete who won the 2024 National Oval Racing Association Cup Series championship and has raced in the Carolina Pro Late Model Series.
“I’m glad to join the KLAS Motorsports team as their program is taking off,” said Arthur. “I’m very grateful to have an opportunity of doing something that I have dreamed of since I was a kid. I’m from Maryland, where we don’t have a lot of asphalt racing. To move to North Carolina and within four or five years be getting ready to drive a car at Daytona is something that I am very thankful for. It won’t fully set in though until I drive out onto that track.”
The combination of simulated and real world racing experience has prepared Arthur well for this opportunity.
“eSports is a great entry into the field of motorsports,” said Arthur. “You get to compete against drivers from many backgrounds and from all over the world. That gave me a good glimpse into the racing world and allowed me to see how teams operate. Without eSports, I never would have gotten the opportunities that I have.”
Transitioning from a virtual racecar into an actual one came naturally for Arthur.
“The transition was not as big as I expected,” said Arthur. “When I first drove (the Pro Late Model), the speed and the sensation were the biggest adjustments. Within about 15 laps though, I was able to get into a rhythm. The simulator prepared me well for that.”
Arthur’s adventures at Daytona will be filmed and documented in a Docuseries titled “Restful Renegades”. This program is produced and presented by DAMM Good Sleep, a partner of Arthur’s. It will feature the stories of athletes with sleep disorders and also includes NFL player Josh Anderson.
Arthur has also partnered with Wake Up Narcolepsy since 2023. Together, they are on a mission to spread awareness and reduce stigma associated with this sleep disorder that Arthur experiences.
The 2025 ARCA Menards Series season will be televised live on the Fox, FS1 and FS2 networks starting with Daytona, which will air live on Fox at Noon ET on February 15th. The series schedule will also be broadcast live on the Fox Sports app.
