February 27, 2025

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (February 27, 2025) – Carter McMurray, 14, will compete full-time in the 2025 SMART Modified Tour powered by Pace-O-Matic. Driving the No. 40 PSR Products Chevrolet, he aims to follow in the footsteps of his father, Daytona 500 champion Jamie McMurray, and build a future in racing.

“I couldn’t be more excited for Carter as he takes this big step into modified racing,” said Jamie McMurray, 2010 Daytona 500 champion and NASCAR analyst for FOX and The CW. “Carter has worked hard to prepare for this opportunity, and we believe the SMART Modified Tour is the best place for him to gain experience.”

Carter McMurray will make his SMART Modified Tour debut on March 1 at Florence Motor Speedway in South Carolina. After climbing the ranks in karting and Legend Cars, this will be his first season in the Modified division.

“Thank you to my parents for believing in me,” said Carter McMurray, who hopes to follow in his father’s NASCAR footsteps. “I’m learning every day and can’t wait to get this car on the track. It’s an honor to race in the SMART Modified Tour, and I hope to take this PSR Products team to victory lane this season.”

Following the season opener at Florence, the SMART Modified Tour powered by Pace-O-Matic moves to Anderson Motor Speedway (S.C.) on March 8. The 14-race schedule concludes at North Wilkesboro Speedway (N.C.) on October 18. All events will be broadcast live on FloRacing, the official streaming partner of the SMART Modified Tour.

“I am excited to see such a young talent and champion like Carter McMurray choose the SMART Modified Tour as his next step in his career,” said Chris Williams, Director of the SMART Modified Tour. “I am looking forward to seeing his growth with the caliber of talent and veterans in our series.”
