Woody Pitkat will return to compete in the McHolmes Motorsports No. 8 Modified for select events during the 2025 season, including all of the Stafford Motor Speedway Open Modified races, it was announced Wednesday.
Pitkat drove for the newly-formed team for the first time in 2024 and picked up his 84th career Stafford win in August. The team is made up of Pitkat’s near exact crew for his Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series effort with Jett Motorsports.
Pitkat will drive the No. 8 McKinney Construction, Gunsmoke Stables, USNE Power machine for four different races at the Connecticut half-mile. Pitkat will run both Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series events (July 16 & September 27) in the car and will also run the entry for the Open Modified races including the Spring Sizzler (April 27) and Open Modified 80 (August 15).
Outside of Stafford, the team also plans to compete in the Northeast Classic at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on April 12, the Modified Racing Series event at Star Speedway on September 13 and the Race of Champions Modified event at Thompson Speedway on October 11.
Additional events with the team would be announced at a later date.
“We’re definitely thrilled to have the band back together to chase wins in some of the biggest Modified races of the year in New England,” Pitkat said. “Stafford’s Spring Sizzler is one of the most marquee Modified events in the country and we would love to grab that one to get the year started at my home track. We’re looking forward to all of the races we plan to run in 2025 – a mix of different tracks with different divisions.”
Team owner Mike Holmes is also thrilled to be back together.
“Definitely excited to be back with Woody again in our car for 2025,” Holmes said. “He’s a great friend and one hell of a wheelman. Cam, Woody, myself and the entire team work hard all year to keep making this deal better and better. We’re looking forward to taking what we learned with the car last year and trying to see if we can get more in 2025. I can’t thank our entire crew and their families, including my own, enough for everything they do, along with our amazing partners that make it possible.”
Additional announcements regarding Pitkat’s 2025 Modified racing season will be announced soon.
