Barre, VT & Naples, ME — After weather already wreaked havoc on Thompson Speedway’s Icebreaker, rain has continued to pester the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) and Pro All Stars Series (PASS) partnership, this time with the 5th annual Northeast Classic at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Anticipated rain-showers and cold temperatures have forced officials to take advantage of pre-planned rain dates with practice day now scheduled for Friday, April 18 with the 5th annual Northeast Classic set to go green on Saturday, April 19.

April showers are forecasted to wash out Saturday’s planned practice day and the combination of continued chance for showers and cold temperatures on Sunday’s scheduled race day have pushed officials to take advantage of the rain dates. The dreary weather is also set to make the fan-favorite backstretch hillside viewing nearly impossible with waterlogged grounds.

With the move, the entire schedule will pick up next Thursday night, April 17 with camper move-in, early garage parking and pit pass sales from 4:00pm to 7:30pm. The action starts on Friday, April 18 with Practice Day as all six divisions get on the Magic Mile for the first time in preparation for Saturday. The 5th annual Northeast Classic will go green at 11:00am on Saturday, April 19.

“Hopefully this is the last of us fighting the rain,” said ACT managing partner Cris Michaud. “This wasn’t a decision taken lightly by any means, we want everyone, from the drivers to the race fans, to get the most out of this event at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Next week already looks like the weather can provide us a much better alternative and we’re going to take that option to make the Northeast Classic the best it can be.”

The Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour championship chase begins in earnest on Saturday, April 19 with the 5th annual Northeast Classic at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
