(Butler Township, Pa. 5-21-25) It’s been a long time coming but Evergreen Raceway is indeed anticipating racing this Saturday evening, May 24 for Camera and Autograph Fan Appreciation Night.

Rain and weather delays have hampered all previous attempts to get at least one race in but to no avail. This Saturday’s forecast, however, is pointing to all systems go.

602 Crate Modifieds, Late Models, Harry’s U-Pull-It Street Stocks, Himmer Graphics 4-Cylinders and McNulty Funeral Home Novices will be in action plus it has just been learned that the Modified Micro Stocks will be added to the card.

Prior to the start of heats the popular JuiceBox Division will take to the track.

All great divisions indeed and as part of Fan Appreciation Night the general admission is set at just $8. And during intermission there will be a meet and greet autograph session on the front straight with all drivers and their cars.

Pit gates will open at 3:30 pm and grandstands at 4:00 pm. Racing will begin with heats starting at 6:00 pm. Car inspections will be taking place as well for all Evergreen classes.

There will be a paid early practice for anyone interested starting at 1:00 pm. Early paid practice is $25 per car.

As a precaution, a rain date is in place, which will be the following afternoon, May 25, with racing starting at 2:00 pm if needed.

In other related news the paving repairs to parts of the front straight area has been pushed back and racing to the flowing weekend on Saturday, May 31. By no fault of anyone and due to all of the rain that has plagued much of the area, it has put behind many paving projects, that includes the repairs needed at the track.

However, Rebecca Barbush – who is the coordinator of the karting – will have an orientation at the track this Saturday from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. She will be going over all aspects from safety to proper driving techniques and general rules. Anyone who would like to attend is welcome to do so and can also contact her at 330-676-2200 for additional information.

Evergreen Raceway, a 1/3-mile paved oval in St. Johns, Butler Township, Luzerne County, hosts motorsports events from February to November, making it a top entertainment choice in Northeast Pennsylvania.
