CLAREMONT, N.H. – Brian Robie and Kyle Templeton each stayed perfect on the summer, Colton Hull scored the first CMP win of his career, Brandon Gray again dominated, and Cam Curtis ended a long winless streak Friday at Claremont Motorsports Park.
Jeremy Zullo and Eddie Gomarlo led the Asetex Tire & Auto 604 Modifieds to the green Friday, with hometown hot shoe Andrew Brousseau – firing from row two – rocketing into the lead on lap two. Brousseau’s mirror was quickly filled by Bay State star Tyler Leary, who rode in his shadow until taking charge on lap 11.
Brousseau stayed at Leary’s bumper until suffering a heart breaking mechanical failure on lap 24, his demise bringing out the event’s only caution flag. Enter Brian Robie! The former track champ, victorious here on opening weekend, was a distant third when the yellow flag waved.
Brought to the leader’s bumper for the restart, Robie quickly disposed of Gomarlo for second, then took the lead from Leary on lap 31 and sped off to his second win this season. With Leary strong in second, Gomarlo scored a career best in third, and teen star Colton Martin powered up to fourth in the closing laps.
Cam Curtis, the youthful Baltimore, VT pilot who cut his racing teeth here in go karts, took charge on lap two of Friday night’s Outlaw Late Model feature, passing veteran Steve Bly for second and then surviving two restarts to win with ease. Bly stayed strong all night to impress in second.
Bobby Melvin Jr. – in his first CMP outing Friday – and Chris Riendeau may not be exchanging Christmas cards anytime soon but Friday, they put on a heck of show, battling all the way around the oval, with Melvin prevailing for third. Trevor Rocke was fifth on the night, his best finish as an Outlaw rookie.
Brandon Gray took the lead from Tim Churchill on lap 11 of the RE Hinkley Fuels Super Street feature and never looked back en route to his second win of the young season. Previous winner Cody Schoolcraft got up for second on lap 31 but could get no closer than three lengths behind the speedy Gray before setting for second on the night.
Matt Sonnhalter, last season’s CMP track champion, came home third in his first run of the summer, and Aiden White impressed again in fourth, taking the checkers just ahead of veteran sizzler Robert Hagar.
Colton Hull took charge on lap 16 of the LaValley Building Supply Pure Stock feature and never looked back. Quickly widening his advantage once at the point, Hull won with ease, earning his first career victory at CMP.
Ethan Meyette was second on the night, and Gage Dillingham was strong in third. Previous 2025 feature winners Kyle Kenny and Carter Conroy rounded out Friday night’s top five, Conroy recovering after tossing a wheel during qualifying. Ethann Meyette’s 2nd place run was short lived as he failed post-race technical inspection.
Richard Lamotte led the first ten laps of Friday’s Mini Stock feature, then giving way to defending track champion Kyle Templeton, who blasted low through turn two and outdragged Lamotte down the backstretch. Once in front, Templeton roared off into another time zone to go two-for-two on the young season.
Lamotte stayed strong and came home second, while Sean Lantas impressed in third. Templeton was perfect on the night, also winning his earlier heat race.
CMP will roar back into action next Friday, May 9, when the Thrasher Road speedplant hosts week three of its 2025 NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Racing Series Friday night season. Post time each Friday is 7 p.m.
