– Independence Day Celebration to Feature High-Speed Action and Fireworks Spectacular –
North East, PA – (June 30, 2025) – Lake Erie Speedway will come alive this Saturday, July 5, with a special Independence Day celebration as it hosts The Freedom Showdown, featuring the Race of Champions Late Model Series and Race of Champions FOAR SCORE Four Cylinder Dash Series. Joining the action will be thrilling support divisions, including pickup trucks and the powerful American Big Rig Series.
The evening will be capped off with a Fireworks Extravaganza presented by Peak Pyro – “Lighting Up the Night” in honor of the Fourth of July holiday weekend.
Eldon King III, of Freedom, NY, the most recent winner in the Race of Champions Late Model Series, is expected to be in attendance as the series returns to the fast 3/8-mile oval in North East.
“Lake Erie Speedway is a challenging race track for us,” stated King. “It’s a race track that’s super competitive and the racing is good. It takes everything to get the job done. Hopefully we can put it together and figure it out. We’re definitely looking forward to Saturday.”
Fans will be treated to a full night of racing action, including qualifying races and feature events for all divisions, as well as a drifting demonstration by Great Lakes Pro-AM competitors Ben Bruno and Jordan Becker.
