(7-8-25) Evergreen Raceway will be back in action this coming Sunday, July 13, with the Tour Type Modifieds headlining the afternoon of pavement racing.
And here’s hoping that the third time will be the charm too. Twice thus far Mother Nature put a stop to the Tour Type Modified events that had been scheduled, coming in the form of rain.
Also on the card will be Late Models, Harry’s U-Pull-It Street Stocks, Himmer Graphics Four Cylinders, McNultey Funeral Home Novice’s and the INEX Legends cars.
After the first two attempts for the Tour Type Modifieds were canceled due to weather, Sunday is now scheduled up next and many Modified teams are expected, and indications suggest that a strong field will be present since those cars have yet to get on track. The race will be contested over a 50-lap distance.
Last Saturday evening Nick Ross snagged his first Evergreen win of the season with the Late Models and in doing so took over as the point’s leader while Marc Aigledinger moved to second in the standings after his strong runner-up to Ross.
Also, after Saturday’s races, the Street Stocks have some close points going. Despite a 13th place finish Gordie Buchman holds the lead over Bobby Hunsicker Jr., And in somewhat of a surprise Mallory Kutz and Sara Derr – who are both in their first season with the division – are ranked third and fourth respectively.
The Four Cylinders will be back after having a week off with TJ Kapish and Michael Wambold heading in 1-2 in the standings and the only drivers to date who have garnered checkered flags thus far.
The weather cancellations have not helped the Novice cars to get in much racing either, so it will be a great chance for many of those up-and-comers of this entry level class to get in some much-needed track time.
Sunday’s have always been the day of choice for the INEX Legends cars at Evergreen as no other tracks rarely conflict and it thus allows for a wide array of teams to converge on the 1/3-mile paved oval for what is always a close and thrilling show.
Sunday adult grandstand admission is $18, seniors $16, kids 12 and under free.
Pits will open at 10:30 am. Pit admission is $40 per person. Warm-up will begin with racing at 12:30 with racing commencing at 2:00 pm.
The day prior, Saturday, July 12, The Circle Track Driving Experience will be taking place from noon to 4:00 pm.
Participants can drive or ride in a Late Model stock car or drive a Modified stocker. There is also an option to ride-along in a Drift car.
Driving the Modified is $15 per lap while the Late Model is $10 per lap. For those wishing to do the Late Model ride-along the cost is $50 and is for a designated number of laps. Handicap accessible Late Model cars are available. The Drift ride-along is $50.
