EMOTIONAL STEVEN RED WINS WILD WALL STADIUM MODIFIED FEATURE SATURDAY

WALL, NJ ~ Steven Reed survived a wild 40-lap Modfied stock car main event and took down his second win of the 2025 racing season. The Jackson speedster’s first victory of the year came in the annual Garden State Classic.

The first 17 laps of the test ran off without a hitch as Wall’s Tyler Ferris was the man to beat. Neptune City’s Bryan O’Shea then moved to second before her and fellow top runners Blake Barney of Jackson, Andrew Krause of Freehold, Eddie McCarthy of Brick and Milltown’s Derek Hopkinson tangled in turn four. The race was also slowed on lap 20 when Manahawkin’s Jake Nelke, O’Shea and Jonathan Laureigh of Lanoka Harbor tangled entering turn one. Howell’s James Blewett removed from the race at this point as officials felt that he contributed to the accident.

Jarret DiGiantomasso of Jackson and Mayetta’s Tyler Truex wrestled for the top spot when action resumed as Reed soon advanced to third. Reed soon slipped into second and took the top spot on lap 25 with an outside lane pass. He then survived on last caution for the win. Truex, McCarthy, Hopkinson and Barney all recovered from early trouble to complete the top five.

“When you see the line up you start thinking of how to get to the front,” Reed said. “I thought we could get to third quickly and get to work from there. It didn’t work out that way. Right now I’m thinking about my mom who his home recovering from surgery and about my friend Garry (McGuigan) who passed away last week.”

Logan Fraser of Toms River will log remember his first Factory Stock win as it came just one week after his car was nearly destroyed in a violent fourth turn crash. Shanon Mongeau of Island Heights, who was involved in the same wreck the week before, was second, while Alex Rogers of Brick, manchester’s Scott Riggleman and Nick Catone completed the top five finishers.

Zach Lenardo of Iselin took command near the half way mark and raced to victory in the 25 lapper for the Sportsman cars. Point leader Chris Silvestri of Hazlet and Colts Neck’s Neil Rutt III were second and third, while, Quinn Trimmer and Sean Vuksanic were fourth and fifth.

Mike Lavery made the trip from Orangeburg, N.Y. worth while by winning the Fast 4 25 lapper after a torrid battled with Kevin Carr of Jackson. Wall’s TJ Graves and brothers Doug and Ian Ashford wrapped up the top five.

Brian Doyle of Ronkonkoma, NY fought off Ray Minieri of Miller Place, NY to win the 25-lapper for the Limited Late Models, but Minieri was able to clinch the 2025 division championship with the finish. Greg Gastelu,Phil Bogdan and Pat Brown were third through fifth.

Jackson’s Blake Barney grabbed his first ever TQ Midget win in the divisions 25-lapper, Taking the lead on lap eight and never looking back. Second through fifth went to Ryan Tidman, Buddy Sload, Tyler Ferris and Jeff Kott.

After taking off August 30 to observe the Labor Day Holiday weekend,Wall Stadium will return to action on Saturday night, September 6.The Modified cars will compete in twin 30 lap races, while the Sportsman cars, Factory Stocks, Fast 4 cars and Legend Cars will also be in action. Qualifying is at 5:00 p.m. with main events starting at 7:00 p.m.
