Activity and excitement surrounding the 9th annual Islip 300 Saturday November 15th at Riverhead Raceway building for the $12,000 to win tour type Modified spectacular. Monday, track management announced free registration for the Islip 300 and support classes is now open, as well revealing several major changes to race procedure for the 300. Chase Grennan of Glen Cove scored a huge upset win at just 17-years old last November, and the college freshman hopes to become the first back-to-back winner of the short track classic next month.

“We have officially opened registration for the Islip 300” track GM John Ellwood disclosed Monday, “as in years past registration is free through November 10th, at midnight November 11th there will be a $100 late charge attached. This goes not just for the tour type Modifieds, but also the Crate Modifieds, INEX Legend Race Cars and recently added Street Stocks. It’s important for everyone to enter early, helps us with certain logistics, media releases and the like”. Teams who raced Riverhead Raceway during 2025 in all four classes must register for the Islip 300 afternoon and again can do so without a fee prior to November 10th, 2025, by visiting http://www.riverheadraceway.com, click on the Hotlap Racing link to access registration forms.

As to the Islip 300, Ellwood noted competitors need to read over the 2025 race procedures over very carefully. “In an effort to save the Modified teams race day expenses we have made changes in the area of tire allotment, infield pitting, controlled stops and refueling” Ellwood disclosed.

Tires, each team may purchase up to seven tires. Must start feature on your time trial tires.

Four practice tires may be purchased, if necessary, but they will not be added to your tire bank and will not be valid for use after the completion of practice.

One used M-20 may be added to your tire bank for emergency use during race. You must bring emergency tire to the Hoosier tire area for inspection and have it scanned to your car before practice.

Teams should pre-order their tires by November 10th, 2025, and can do so by visiting hoosiertire@riverheadraceway.com

Crews, maximum 3 crew members over the wall during pit stop service, any cars failing to follow this directive will be assessed a one lap penalty. Those penalized with a one lap penalty will not be eligible to receive the Lucky Dog to gain a penalty lap back.

Pit crews will enter the infield through the third turn gate.

Teams will only be permitted to bring 4 tires on the infield for the feature. The 3 new tires purchased and one used M-20 emergency tire, all must be scanned and assigned to your car.

Procedure, cars will not lose a position, or laps on pit road while under caution. Cars that remain on pit road when the green flag is displayed for any reason will then loses positions, or laps to the field.

All pit cars will be realigned in the order they entered the pits after returning to the track with the exception of lapped cars, penalty cars and/or the Lucky Dog recipient who will be placed at the rear of the field.

Refueling, on lap 75 entire field must exit track for a mandatory gas only, controlled pit stop. At this time teams can add up to 5-gallons of fuel.

Refueling will take place from the outside edge of pit stalls.

Cars will enter pit road in running order with the leader pulling to the outside of pit #1, and the rest of the field stopping in consecutive stalls in running order.

Only two crew members allowed over the wall during the fuel stop, neither is permitted on the right side of the car for any reason.
