– Race Time Will Remain Set for 3:00 PM –

Owego, NY (June 13, 2026) – Race of Champions and Shangri-La II Speedway management have mutually agreed to postpone the Race of Champions “Family of Series” event scheduled for Sunday, June 14, due to forecasts calling for potential severe weather, precipitation and unfavorable conditions throughout the day.

The event has been rescheduled for Sunday, July 12. The schedule will remain as previously announced, with qualifying beginning at 3:00 PM.

“Mother Nature has been relentless during the start of the 2026 season,” stated Joe Skotnicki of Race of Champions. “We know what we are up against and carefully consider every factor involved in making these decisions, including travel costs, potential delays and the ability to complete an event once it begins.”

“It is not what we want to do, but we believe it is the right thing to do. Often, the right decisions are the most difficult. We understand there will be opinions regarding the decision, but our responsibility is to the competitors, fans, staff and facility while protecting everyone’s investment of time and resources.”

“With travel costs continuing to rise, we would rather err on the side of caution than place competitors and fans in a difficult situation. This is a passionate sport and many of us naturally let our hearts influence our decisions.

Ultimately, however, these situations must be viewed through a business lens, and sometimes Mother Nature takes the decision out of our hands.”

“We look forward to returning on July 12 and putting on a great event for everyone involved.”

Additional event details, division schedules and race-day information will be released in the coming days through
