Tommy Catalano, Mark Hoch, and Connor Kurdziel Win at Lancaster

LANCASTER, N.Y. (June 27, 2026) –Tommy Catalano from Ontario, NY went back-to-back on Saturday night at Lancaster Motorplex, as the third-generation driver won his second straight Sportsman feature.Mark Hoch from West Seneca, NY won the Street Stock feature. Connor Kurdziel from Elma, NY won his first career 4 Cylinder feature. 

Tony Carbone and Carson Kelchlin were on the front row for the Sportsman feature, with Carbone in the lead ahead of John Barber, Mason Hanel, and Jesse Kirchmeyer. Shawn Nye would enter the top five and would go after Kelchlin for fourth place, as the lead trio of Carbone, Barber, and Hanel started to pull away. The caution would come out on lap 13 as Chris Pennell spun in turn three. Hanel would take the lead away on lap 16, as Shawn Nye raced his way into third place. Nye would challenge Carbone for second, as Tommy Catalano entered the top five and was battling with Jesse Kirchmeyer for fourth place. Catalano passed Nye on lap 22 to take over third place, and then just one lap later, used the outside to take second away from Carbone. Catalano would take the lead after battling with Hanel for a couple of laps, as Nye would close in on Hanel for second place. Mike Fiebelkorn Jr would enter the top five and would be battling with Amy and Tyler Catalano. Tommy would hold off Shawn Nye and Mason Hanel to score his second win of the season. 

Kyle Schosek and Troyer Catalano were on the front row for the Street Stocks, with Schosek in the lead ahead of Mike Piccirilli, Troyer Catalano, Tim Garlock, and Hunter McKay. Piccirilli would take the lead away on lap two, with Tim Garlock moving into second place. Dan Dressel, Nathan Bryant, and Mark Hoch all raced their way into the top five. The caution would come out on lap eight for a multi-car incident,  with Tim Welshans going into the front straightaway wall. The restart would see Piccirilli and Garlock on the front row, with Garlock taking over the lead. The caution flags would fly just one lap later, as Tucker Welshans tagged Troyer Catalano in turn two. Mark Hoch would take the lead away on lap 10 from his 12th starting position. Garlock would regain the lead just one lap later. The caution would come out on lap 19, as Mike Piccirilli spun in turn one and collected Donnie Aquino, Dan Dressel, and Nathan Bryant. The restart would see Hoch in the lead and Hoch would go on to win his third race of the season. 

Andrew Rocque and Mason Russo were on the front row for the 4 Cylinders with Rocque in the lead, with Connor Kurdziel racing in second. Kurdziel would take the lead away on lap three ahead of Chris Deyoe Jr, and Russo. Over the last twelve laps, Kurdziel would be holding off the challenges from both Deyoe and Russo. Kurdziel would go on to score his first career feature win. 

Fans of Lancaster Stock Cars are giving race fans the chance to enjoy one of the biggest nights of the season in style while also supporting Lancaster Motorplex competitors through a special suite raffle for the 38th US Open Weekend. Only 300 tickets will be sold for the raffle, with all proceeds going directly to the Drivers Point Fund. The grand prize winner will receive a suite for the U.S. Open featuring 10 tickets, along with food and drinks included for the evening. The first-place package also includes two Fans of Lancaster Stock Cars T-shirts. Beer may be purchased separately. A second-place prize will also be awarded, featuring a free camping spot for the weekend plus four tickets to the Saturday portion of US Open Weekend. Raffle tickets are available at two price points: 1 ticket for $50 and 3 (three) tickets for $100. Tickets will be available at the Friends of Lancaster Stock Car 50/50 booth on Thursday, July 2. 

Stock car racing continues at Lancaster Motorplex on Thursday, July 2 for the running of the Ol’ Boy Cup honoring Bill Colton Sr for the Race of Champions Modified Series. Joining the mods will be the Lancaster Sportsman, Street Stocks, and the Mighty TQ Midgets will race on their legends night, honoring and remembering Kenny Hangauer Jr. Pit gates open at 3:30pm, grandstands at 5:30pm, racing at 7pm.
