LANCASTER, N.Y. – The Race of Champions Modified Series returns to Lancaster Motorplex this Saturday, August 15 for r the 37th running of the Tribute to Tommy Druar and Tony Jankowiak, a 110-lap sprint event paying $5,000 to win.
Paulie Hartwig, III, of Galloway, N.J., heads into the event second in the championship standings behind Matt Hirschman and is looking to close the gap Saturday. He was the winner of the Ol’ Boy Cup back in early July at Lancaster.
“It’s going to be a busy week for us,” said Hartwig. “We’re looking forward to being back at Lancaster on Saturday. It’s a big race. We’ve been working hard to improve our Modified program, and hopefully we’ll be in contention at the end. It’ll definitely be an exciting night.”
Matt Druar – son of the late Tommy Druar – through his Thirty 7 Pit Products brand along with his family has raised and collected well over $6,000 in bonuses for teams participating in the event. The winner will receive $6037.37.
The Race of Champions Modified Series will be joined by Lancaster Motorplex weekly divisions as part of a full night of racing. Green flag action begins at 6:00 PM.
