Thompson, CT — After four weeks away, the Quiet Corner of Connecticut is set to roar and rumble Wednesday night as the stars of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour return to Thompson Speedway for the iconic Wednesday midweek special that also highlights the track championship warriors that call The Big-T home!

While Patrick Emerling is looking to go four-for-four and match legends Richie Evans and Mike Stefanik, Keith Rocco is also in the hunt for win number four. Rocco has been a man on a mission in the Thompson Sunoco Modifieds, winning three of five events so far and going for his fourth on Wednesday. Defending champion Todd Owen and Danny Cates are both looking to add a second win while climbing closer to Rocco atop the standings.

Defending champ Jake ‘The Jet’ Johnson holds a slim three-point lead over Matt Lowinski-Loh in the Late Model standings going into Wednesday’s big NASCAR midweek special. Johnson is coming off a massive $10,000 win in Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour competition and riding high with confidence while rookie Travis Hydar, Jared Materas, Jason Williams and more will be looking to join the top dogs as a winner at Thompson in 2026.

The SK Light Modifieds have impressed each and every week at Thompson this summer with some of the highest car counts in the pit area. Kevin Davis continues to lead the SK Lights over sophomore Austin Goff and RJ Marcotte on the leaderboard. Wednesday’s action could finally play into the hands of veterans like John O’Sullivan, Daltin McCarthy or Todd Douillard to finally nab the win over the youngsters.

Ryan Lineham will lead the Street Stocks back to Thompson in lock-step with Jerrod Soucy and Al Stone III. Stone is looking for his first win in the Larry’s Auto Machine #25 while the open rules package can allow for almost any invader in the region to come play at ‘The Indianapolis of the East.’

The Crown Vics also return with Ethan Williams looking to break his perfect streak of second-place finishes and finally take his first win of the season. So far it’s been a different winner each week as more drivers take on Thompson’s iconic highbanks for a chance at the win!
